Published on June 11, 2024

Many dream of getting into IIT, but what happens after you actually make it? Let’s explore the daily life of an average IITian. 8:00 AM – The day starts with lectures, sometimes online, sometimes in large classrooms. Students attend classes in subjects like Data Structures, Engineering Physics, or Fluid Mechanics. 12:00 PM – After a few lectures, students head to the mess for lunch. Food varies across IITs, but most have decent vegetarian and non-veg options. 2:00 PM – Lab sessions or self-study happens. Some students work on their projects, explore open-source coding, or attend club meetings. 6:00 PM – Time for sports and relaxation. IITs offer basketball courts, cricket grounds, swimming pools, and gyms. 8:00 PM – Dinner is followed by coding sessions, quizzes, or chilling with friends in hostels. Late nights are common—sometimes for work, sometimes for fun. Midnight – Students might be debugging code, preparing for exams, gaming, or watching movies. It's a balanced life with freedom, pressure, and immense learning. IIT life is what you make of it—intense, innovative, and incredibly rewarding.
